The area
for lovers of culture

The Odéon neighbourhood contains numerous cultural sites: the Musée d' Histoire de la Médecine, the Musée de la Minéralogie and the Musée du Luxembourg which houses the Senate. For a pleasant evening, you can attend a show at the Théâtre de l'Odéon.

Saint Germain des Prés also possesses numerous museums. The Musée Delacroix, which relates the life of the painter, the Musée de la Monnaie, the Musée Zadkine, which is the museum displaying the work of the Russian sculptor Zadkine, and, finally, the Musée Hébert, which offers us its view of Italy through its paintings.
This area has been attracting many intellectuals since the 17th century. It seems that Saint-Germain-des-Prés always inspired them. The well-known Café de Flore, Les Deux Magots and the Brasserie Lipp were meeting places for animated debates between passionate writers and philosophers.
Today, the litterary atmosphere is still there. Art galleries have now followed suit and settled rue de Seine.
Art and culture is everywhere in saint-Germain. A walk around should not be missed!
