Our history
A group in full flight
1985 marked the date of the acquisition of a first hotel on the Left Bank : Le Madison, one of the symbolic sites of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, facing the famous Church, a building which was turned into a hotel in 1925 and became a regular dwelling for many writers and philosophers – Boris Pasternak (“Doctor Jivago”) in 1935, André Malraux in 1937; Albert Camus finished the drafting of his novel “L’Etranger” there.

In 1991, the Hurand family acquired the Bourgogne & Montana Hotel.
Superbly situated opposite the Assemblée Nationale, the building, dated 1791, is now a charming four star hotel with 32 rooms and suites, displaying classic pieces of furniture and paintings in a friendly and cosy atmosphere.

The Artus Hotel in 2004, then the Hotel de Buci in 2006 joined the other three hotels.
Both situated in the same street, in the very heart of the Latin Quarter, with their twenty or so rooms, they are typical boutique hotels, with their own specific style and clientele.
The Artus Hotel is an emeritus member of Design Hotels, and the de Buci Hotel is a member of the Luxe Worldwide brand.

2005 is a milestone since it saw the creation of the “Maurice Hurand Hotel” group. With five hotels and 235 rooms, benefiting from an exceptional location, the group has set up a real synergy between these resolutely Parisian establishments.

The portal site www.hotelsmauricehurand.com has been launched on the web with an “on line” reservation system where availabilities and promotional offers for the hotels are displayed.

A newsletter on line provides the latest information about the hotels, the activities and promotions and about the main cultural events in the different districts.
